The American Heart Association is pleased to announce that Kimberly A. Halbauer, of Fifth Third Bank and Jill P. Meyer of Frost Brown Todd LLC will serve as co-chairs of the 2013 Go Red For Women Luncheon which will be held on May 9 at the Duke Energy Convention Center. The Luncheon is presented by The Christ Hospital, the official Cincinnati Goes Red Sponsor.

“We are thrilled to have two such outstanding and influential business women take the lead in the Go Red Luncheon,” said Amy Lang, the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women director. “Their contributions to the event will go a long way in the fight against our number one and four killers – heart disease and stroke.”

Kimberly Halbauer has a 22-year career with Fifth Third Bank, rising from a retail customer service representative role to her present position as Director of Private Banking for the Greater Cincinnati Affiliate. She has held positions across multiple lines of business from Retail to Commercial to Investment Advisors. In her leadership of the Private Banking team, Halbauer is responsible for developing and implementing the group’s business plan, directing the group’s strategic efforts and assisting in new product development.

Halbauer is Chair of the Tri County Economic Development Foundation Board in Northern Kentucky and Chair of the Major Gifts Committee for Thomas More College. She is actively involved with United Way as a Tocqueville Cabinet Member and part of the Steering Committee for the Women’s Leadership Counsel. She is an advocate for education and regional development initiatives as seen in her work with the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, Diocesan Board of Education, NKU, Xavier University and the East End Adult Education Center. She is a current member of Leadership Cincinnati and a graduate of the Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce’s WE Lead Program and Leadership Northern Kentucky.

Jill P. Meyer is the Member-in-Charge of Frost Brown Todd LLC's Cincinnati office. She concentrates her practice on advertising and media litigation and counseling, including digital and social media issues.

She is the Chair of the Board of Downtown Cincinnati, Inc.; a member of the Boards of the Cincinnati Arts Association, BRIDGES for a Just Community, Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber, Cincinnati Convention & Visitors Bureau, Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services, and YWCA; and serves on the Senate Judiciary Commission for Ohio's Federal District Court, Northern District. She is a United Way Tocqueville Society Member and the Women Leadership Counsel’s New Member Chair.

She is a past recipient of the YWCA’s Rising Star award, a Forty Under 40 winner, and an alum of the Chamber's inaugural WE Lead class and Leadership Cincinnati Class 34. Jill earned her B.A. at the College of Mount St. Joseph and her J.D. at Salmon P. Chase College of Law, both magna cum laude.

The Go Red For Women Luncheon is a celebration of a yearlong movement to raise awareness about heart disease in women. The event begins with health screenings, boutique shopping and educational sessions, followed by lunch and a keynote address. The Luncheon ends with its signature UC DAAP students’ Red Dress Fashion. Last year, the event raised $480,000 for the American Heart Association.

Message From Nancy Brown

for position only

Dear Friends,

Welcome to the 2013 Cincinnati Go Red Luncheon! We’re delighted you are here and appreciate your interest in learning how you can advance health, stop heart disease and save women’s lives. That’s what the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women® movement is all about.

Heart disease isn’t just a man’s problem. It’s a woman’s problem, too. In fact, it’s the No. 1 killer of women. And, tragically, far too few women realize their risk from this preventable disease. We need to raise women’s awareness of their risk and protect our mothers, daughters, sisters, friends and ourselves.

You can help, starting today. Here’s how:

First, take charge of your own heart health. Visit your doctor. Know your numbers (learn more at www.GoRedForWomen.org). You can improve your blood pressure, cholesterol and other numbers by making lifestyle changes. You’ll be healthier and look and feel better, too.

Second, join the American Heart Association in making it your mission to fight heart disease in women. Help spread the word that heart disease is women’s No. 1 killer. Share what you learn today with your family and members of your community. Tell five women you want them to live and we can help stop heart disease in our lifetime.

Third and last, consider making a contribution. Your donation today will make a difference in the lives of women here and across the country. You can help fund local and national Go Red activities that support awareness, research, education and community programs that benefit women.

Thank you again for being here. My hope is that you won’t leave today without committing to making a difference by joining the Go Red For Women movement — women everywhere need your help. Only one in five women believes that heart disease is her greatest health threat. We believe reducing risk and preventing heart disease starts with education — and you. There’s so much to do, and so much at stake.

With your commitment, we can help women and their families live longer, stronger lives. Thank you for your generous support.

Warm regards,

Nancy Brown
